Peugeot has recently unveiled its 2025 Peugeot E-408 in Europe, two years after its initial debut. This all-electric four-door coupe is designed to appeal to those who prioritize style, aiming to lure customers away from popular choices like the Polestar 2 or Tesla Model 3 and Model Y.
Equipped with a 58.2kWh battery, the E-408 boasts an impressive range of up to 453km. It features a single e-motor that drives the front wheels, delivering 157kW and 345Nm of torque. While official performance figures have not been released, it is expected to have a 0-100km/h acceleration time of less than 10 seconds.
Thanks to its sleek design and low drag coefficient of 0.28Cd, the E-408 can achieve an average energy consumption of 15.2kWh/100km. It can be fast-charged at up to 120kW, with a 20-80% charge taking just over 30 minutes. Peugeot has hinted at the possibility of a long-range version with a larger 98kWh battery, potentially offering a range of over 700km on a single charge.
Visually, the E-408 closely resembles the regular 408 model, with a modern interior featuring a 10-inch digital instrument panel and infotainment screen. Standard features include wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as driving modes like Normal, Eco, and Sport. Paddle shifters allow for adjusting regenerative braking levels, enhancing the driving experience.
In terms of trim levels, the E-408 is available in Allure and GT variants, each offering a range of features such as LED headlights, wireless connectivity, climate control, and advanced driver assistance systems. Peugeot’s latest autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and blind-spot monitoring ensure a safe and convenient driving experience.
While the fate of the Peugeot E-408 in Australia remains uncertain, the brand is set to introduce a new mild-hybrid variant of the 408 next year. With the E-408 completing Peugeot’s electric vehicle lineup, the company now offers a total of 12 passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, showcasing its commitment to sustainable mobility.
Overall, the 2025 Peugeot E-408 presents an attractive option for those seeking a stylish and eco-friendly vehicle, with impressive range and advanced features that cater to modern drivers‘ needs. As the automotive industry continues to embrace electrification, Peugeot’s latest offering signals a promising future for electric mobility.
