Montclair, New Jersey is set to transport residents and visitors back in time with the upcoming MedievalFest hosted by Montclair Early Music (MEM). Scheduled for Sunday, August 25th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Montclair Art Museum, this event promises a day filled with live music, dance, games, crafts, armored knights, food, drinks, and vendors. Attendees are encouraged to dress in medieval attire to fully immerse themselves in the experience.
The festival lineup includes a variety of vendors and entertainers, such as Montclair Early Music, the Kingdom of Acre, Montclair Brewery, Sankofa Cafe, Café Moso, Rosie’s Empanadas, Silantro food truck, Finklepott’s Original Fairy Hair, Picture Perfect Creations, All Kyndes of Things wood and wire works, Iron Angel Leather handcrafts, and Cosmic Debris. With such a diverse range of offerings, there is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy.
According to organizers, attendees can look forward to a day filled with exciting activities. From watching armored knights spar to playing Viking lawn games, creating jewelry, learning traditional dances, and getting styled with fairy hair, there will be no shortage of entertainment. The village marketplace will offer handcrafted items such as leather pouches, dragon candles, magic wands, and more. Additionally, guests can indulge in savory meat pies and other refreshments while sipping on MedievalFest Ale, a special honey beer brewed by Montclair Brewery.
Live music will be a highlight of the event, featuring performances from the Montclair Early Music vocal and instrumental ensembles, as well as a special presentation by the children’s recorder group, DragonBards. The sounds of the Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque periods will fill the air, adding to the overall ambiance of the festival.
