Winners of the Pocket Gamer Mobile Games Awards 2024 announced

The Pocket Gamer Mobile Games Awards 2024, in association with Gamelight, recently took place at the Gürzenich Köln, where the industry’s best and brightest gathered to celebrate the finest in the mobile gaming sector. The event recognized top games, developers, publishers, and service providers that contribute to the success of the industry.

One of the highlights of the awards ceremony was the announcement of the winners in various categories. Scopely’s Monopoly GO! was awarded Game of the Year, following its massive success with over $3 billion in revenue. The People’s Choice Award went to Whaleapp and Tilting Point’s SpongeBob Adventures: In a Jam, showcasing the popularity and appeal of the game among players.

In addition to game awards, accolades were also given to industry professionals and service providers. The Best Publisher award was presented to Scopely, while the Best Developer award went to HoYoverse, the studio behind Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. The Rising Star award was given to Aïda Figuerola, a senior engagement manager at King.

The awards ceremony also recognized the contributions of individuals and companies in various categories such as Best Advertising & UA Service, Best Analytics/Data Tool, Best Storytelling, Best Payment Service Provider, Best Game Engine/Creation Platform, Best Audio/Visual Accomplishment, and more. Winners in these categories included AppLovin, Adjust InSight, Unreal Engine, Wuthering Waves, and Room 8 Group, among others.

Special awards were also presented, such as the Mobile Legend award, which was given to Nitish Mittersain, the founder and CEO of Nazara Technologies, for his significant contributions to the Indian gaming industry. The Best Indie Developer award went to Midjiwan, while the Best App Store award was presented to Huawei AppGallery.

The awards ceremony concluded with a thank you to the sponsors, including Gamelight, Aghanim, Epic Games Store, Huawei AppGallery, Jam City, Amber, HyprMX, and Appcharge, as well as associate sponsors Supercell, Solsten, Hasbro, SciPlay, and Sentient Gaming.
