Teledyne e2v Launches Upgraded Arm-based LX2160 Processor

Teledyne e2v, a leading provider of high-performance electronic components and subsystems for aerospace and defense applications, has recently announced the release of a military-qualified version of the LX2160 processor. This up screened version of the processor is designed to operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -55°C to +125°C, making it ideal for use in rugged aerospace and defense equipment.

The LX2160 processor features a 16-core Arm Cortex A72 design, offering unparalleled performance in a compact form factor and optimized power envelope. Compared to its predecessor, the LS1046 quad-core processor, the LX2160 delivers a significant boost in performance, with 4x more cores and 6x more DMIPS computing capability. This increased performance allows for faster data processing and improved efficiency in AI-at-the-Edge computing systems, single board computers, and other compute-intensive applications.

One of the key advantages of the LX2160 processor is its support for a wide range of interfaces, including 2 DDR4 interfaces, 100 GbE, multiple PCIe Gen3.0, and SATA Gen3.0.
