Anwar criticizes international community for failing to stop Israel’s atrocities in Gaza

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim recently expressed his deep disappointment with the international community’s failure to put an end to Israel’s atrocities on Gaza. In an interview with India Today Global during his official visit to New Delhi, Anwar voiced his frustration at the lack of action in the name of democracy and human rights. He emphasized the urgent need for a resolution to the ongoing conflict and called for an immediate ceasefire to stop the violence.

Anwar revealed that he had been in communication with leaders from Qatar and Iran to discuss the progress of ceasefire talks and the situation in the region. He reiterated his support for ending the war atrocities on Gaza and emphasized the importance of peaceful resolution to the conflict. Anwar made it clear that he does not condone any form of violence or aggression, regardless of the party involved.

In his conversations with Hamas leaders, Anwar emphasized the need for peace and condemned the continued attacks on Gaza by the Zionist regime. He questioned the double standards in labeling certain groups as terrorists while ignoring the root causes of the conflict, such as colonization and dispossession. Anwar stressed the importance of addressing the underlying issues of aggression and colonization to achieve lasting peace in the region.

The Prime Minister highlighted the long history of atrocities committed against the Palestinian people, dating back more than 70 years. He called for an immediate halt to colonization and aggression, emphasizing the need for a just and equitable resolution to the conflict. Anwar criticized the international community for turning a blind eye to the suffering of the Palestinian people and failing to take decisive action to end the violence.

Israel’s relentless attacks on Gaza have resulted in the deaths of over 40,000 Palestinians and injuries to nearly 93,000 since October 7. Despite calls for an immediate ceasefire by the UN Security Council, the violence continues unabated. The blockade imposed on Gaza has led to severe shortages of basic necessities, leaving the enclave in a state of humanitarian crisis.

Anwar’s impassioned plea for peace and justice in Gaza serves as a reminder of the urgent need for international intervention to end the cycle of violence and bring about a lasting resolution to the conflict. The Prime Minister’s unwavering commitment to advocating for the rights of the Palestinian people underscores the importance of standing up against injustice and oppression wherever it may occur.
