The 9th Higher Education Expo 2024 is set to take place on February 3-4 at Bridex Hall 2, Jerudong, with thirty-nine participants from various higher education institutions, educational services agencies, government, and private agencies coming together to provide a comprehensive platform for students seeking information on post-secondary education options.
Deputy chairperson of the expo, Dina Roslina binti Haji Aliuddin, announced during a press conference at the Ministry of Education headquarters that the expo will kick off on February 3, opening to the public from 10am-5pm. The following day, February 4, the expo will start at 9am and conclude at 5pm.
The event is expected to be inaugurated by Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, with various launches scheduled, including the introduction of an iHub+ application from the Department of Higher Education. Additionally, webinar sessions will be conducted on February 5-6 via the YouTube platform.
The primary focus of the 9th Higher Education Expo is to serve as a ‚one-stop information center‘ for higher education, where attendees can gain insights into the landscape of post-secondary and higher education both locally and internationally. Representatives from post-secondary educational institutions, government and private higher education institutions, and local education agencies will be on hand to provide valuable information and guidance to students.
Students attending the expo will have the opportunity to interact with representatives from higher education institutions and education agencies, making it an ideal platform for those planning to pursue further studies. The Ministry of Education will also share updates on the HECAS Admissions System, government scholarships, course accreditation applications, and career opportunities during the event.
A diverse range of institutions will be participating in the expo, including public higher education institutions like Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali, and private institutions such as Laksamana College of Business, Cosmopolitan College of Commerce and Technology, and many more. Additionally, nine foreign institutions will also be present, offering students a glimpse into international education opportunities.
The expo will also see the participation of embassies, government agencies, and private companies, further enriching the event with a wide array of resources and information for attendees. With a strong lineup of participants and a focus on providing comprehensive information on higher education options, the 9th Higher Education Expo 2024 promises to be a valuable event for students and education seekers alike.
