Program Beli-belah Raya bersama 100 anak yatim dan asnaf

In conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan, 100 orphans and asnaf individuals in the Darau constituency were treated to a shopping spree for new Hari Raya outfits at the Servay Hypermarket Likas in Kota Kinabalu. The event was organized by the wife of the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datin Seri Panglima Juliah Salag, along with the Chief Women of Gagasan Rakyat, Datuk Redonah Bahanda, and the Political Secretary and Deputy Chief Women of Gagasan Rakyat, Aziah Atoh.

Also in attendance were the Chief Executive Director of Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Berhad, Datuk Dexter Lau, and the Director of UPPN Sabah, Datuk Awang Kadin Tang. Each asnaf and orphan was given RM200 to purchase new Hari Raya clothes, courtesy of Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Berhad (KTC) as part of their Ramadan Charity Program throughout Sabah.

Redonah expressed that the program was an initiative to reach out and support the community, especially those less fortunate in preparing for the upcoming festive season. She emphasized the importance of continuing such programs in the future to share blessings with those in need during Ramadan.

Juliah, capturing a memorable moment with one of the asnaf individuals at the event, highlighted the significance of private sector companies and government-linked companies (GLCs) playing an active role in fulfilling their corporate social responsibility (CSR). She urged them to provide various forms of assistance to the local community and collaborate consistently with the government to ensure the success of such initiatives.

Furthermore, Juliah emphasized the importance of parents monitoring their children during the ongoing haze and hot weather conditions to prevent any health-related issues. She called for increased attention and care towards children to safeguard their well-being during this challenging period.

In conclusion, the shopping spree for orphans and asnaf individuals organized by Datin Seri Panglima Juliah Salag, Datuk Redonah Bahanda, and their team was a heartwarming gesture of compassion and support during the holy month of Ramadan. The event not only provided new clothes for those in need but also highlighted the importance of community involvement and corporate social responsibility in uplifting the less fortunate members of society. It is hoped that such initiatives will continue to make a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most.
