抢先揭秘《梵谷:尋光之路》!以“光”为主题:3 大展区、25 幅真迹画作,6 大亮点一次梳理 | ShoppingDesign

Vincent van Gogh, one of the most influential post-impressionist painters of the late 19th century, is the focus of the exhibition „Van Gogh: Journey of Light“ at the Taipei Fubon Art Museum, opening on August 24th. Featuring 25 authentic works from the Kröller-Müller Museum in the Netherlands, the exhibition explores the theme of „light“ in van Gogh’s life and art, divided into three main exhibition areas that highlight different meanings of light. Here are six highlights of the exhibition that you won’t want to miss.

The exhibition is curated around the central theme of light in van Gogh’s life, showcasing how he transformed his life experiences, intense emotions, and beliefs into his art. Departing from the traditional and impressionist interpretations of light, van Gogh’s work emphasized the importance of the artist’s inner emotions and experiences. His unique style transcended geographical and national boundaries, leaving a profound impact on the development of art in the following centuries.

The exhibition is divided into three main areas, each representing a different phase of van Gogh’s life and artistic journey. The first area, „Enlightenment Light,“ focuses on the period from 1880 to 1885 when van Gogh was exploring traditional academic techniques and studying the works of classical masters. The artworks in this section depict rural life with somber neutral tones and a focus on capturing the harsh realities of existence.

In the second area, „Natural Light,“ visitors can explore van Gogh’s experimentation with light and color after his exposure to impressionist and modern art movements in Paris. The use of complementary colors and pointillist techniques marked a shift in his style, as seen in works like „Café Terrace at Night“ and „The Sower.“

The third area, „Light of the Soul,“ showcases van Gogh’s works created during his time in the Saint-Rémy asylum and in Auvers. These paintings reflect his intense emotions and dynamic use of light and color, portraying his inner struggles and deep-seated emotions. The final piece, „Blossoming Chestnut Trees,“ is one of his last completed works, demonstrating his renewed spirit and innovative approach to painting.

To enhance the visitor experience, the exhibition features a special audio guide recorded by actress Lin Chi-ling, providing insights into the stories behind the artworks and guiding viewers through van Gogh’s artistic world. The audio guide is available for free by scanning a QR code in the exhibition space, making it accessible to all visitors.

One of the highlights of the exhibition is the recreation of the scene from van Gogh’s famous painting „Café Terrace at Night,“ emphasizing the importance of nighttime light in painting. This immersive experience allows visitors to step into van Gogh’s world and experience the vibrant colors and atmosphere of his works firsthand.

In addition to the artworks, the exhibition offers adult and children’s guidebooks for a deeper understanding of van Gogh’s art. The children’s guidebook encourages interactive learning and critical thinking, engaging young visitors in the role of mini curators.

Lastly, visitors can explore a variety of exclusive exhibition merchandise, including postcard sets featuring the 25 artworks on display, a collaboration with the Taiwanese brand et seq. for a themed gift box, and a range of beautifully designed items such as canvas bags, scarves, mugs, magnets, notebooks, and folders inspired by van Gogh’s art.

Don’t miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of Vincent van Gogh at the „Van Gogh: Journey of Light“ exhibition at the Taipei Fubon Art Museum from August 24th to November 11th. Experience the transformative power of light in van Gogh’s art and discover the beauty and emotion captured in his masterpieces.
