The Deputy Mayor of Vadodara, Tikubhai, has been actively involved in various development projects in Ward No. 3. The Ward has seen a downpour of development works, with a total expenditure of Rs. 11.84 crores allocated for the construction of a Community Hall, Health Center, and the city’s first City TB Center in the Railnagar expansion area. The Standing Committee has submitted a request for approval for these projects, which will be discussed in a meeting with 57 proposals on the agenda.
In Ward No. 3, a tender was floated for the construction of a Community Hall on Final Plot No. 8 under TP Scheme No. 19 in the Railnagar expansion area. Vinay Infrastructure Private Limited offered to undertake the project at a cost of Rs. 8.70 crores, which was lower than the estimated cost of Rs. 8.62 crores. The Standing Committee is now considering the approval for this construction, which will cover a total area of 3002 square meters and include two floors for various community activities.
Furthermore, a budget of Rs. 3.14 crores has been allocated for the construction of a Health Center and the City TB Center in the Railnagar expansion area. The tender for this project was awarded to El-1 Gayatri Enterprises at a cost of Rs. 3.14 crores. The ground floor of the building will cover an area of 944.60 square meters and will provide essential healthcare services to the residents of Railnagar and its surrounding areas.
In addition to these developments, the Standing Committee will also discuss the allocation of grants to smart societies, the management of crematoriums by social organizations, an increase in monthly grants for social institutions, and the implementation of a new policy for collecting charges for new construction projects in various wards.
Meanwhile, changes are also expected in the Corporation’s Secretary Department, with plans to upgrade the post of P.A. to P.S. The current setup includes 30 employees, but modifications are underway to restructure the department. The positions of P.A. to Mayor, P.S. to Mayor, Head Clerk, Senior Clerk, Junior Clerk, and other staff members will be reorganized to streamline operations.
Moreover, the Standing Committee will review a request for permission to proceed with legal cases against former TP officials M.D. Sagathiya and former Chief Fire Officer Nilesh Kher. The cases involve serious allegations related to a fire incident in the T.P. Game Zone, and the Committee will decide whether to grant permission for legal action.
Lastly, the Corporation’s pension scheme is set to undergo changes, with the Corporation’s contribution increasing from 10% to 14% for employees covered under the new pension scheme. The Standing Committee will review the proposal for this adjustment in the pension scheme.
Overall, the upcoming meeting at Atal Sarovar will address various important matters, including the restructuring of the Standing Committee and the discussion of key development projects in the city. It is expected to be a crucial gathering for decision-making and planning for the future development of Vadodara.
