Customer Experience (17.5%): Customer service is essential when dealing with pet insurance providers. We evaluate companies based on website accessibility, customer service, mobile apps, money-back guarantees, and veterinarian telehealth options. Providers with the most customer experience offerings receive the highest scores.
Industry Standing (10%): We review ratings and accreditation information from reputable sources like the Better Business Bureau and Trustpilot to assess a company’s reputation and customer reviews. Companies with positive ratings and years of industry experience earn more points in this category.
Availability (10%): Some pet insurance companies have age limits for older pets or restrictions on certain breeds. We deduct points from providers with these limitations and consider state availability and international coverage options.
