The Serbian Traffic Safety Agency is taking strict measures to ensure road safety and reduce the number of traffic accidents in the country. The assistant director of the agency, Mirko Koković, recently announced that vehicles can be confiscated permanently or temporarily, even if they are borrowed. This new law aims to deter drivers from engaging in risky behavior on the roads, such as driving under the influence of alcohol or psychoactive substances.

He mentioned that temporary confiscation can last for up to two years, during which the driver must pay a demurrage fee.
