In the city of Ismailia, Egypt, a new presidential initiative has been launched to build a more advanced society. This initiative, called „Bidayat Jadida“ (New Beginning for Human Development), is in line with the directives and vision of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to implement a national project for human development. The goal is to create a progressive and integrated community by providing diverse programs, activities, and services that cater to all age groups and cover all governorates of the country.
During a meeting held to discuss the implementation of this initiative, various executive bodies in Ismailia presented their plans and visions. These bodies include local development, social solidarity directorate, youth and sports directorate, veterinary medicine directorate, religious endowments directorate, cultural palaces authority, tourism administration, education and technical education directorate, electricity and renewable energy, labor directorate, water and sewage holding company, defense (military advisor in the governorate), housing and utilities directorate, supply and internal trade directorate, communications and information technology, Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Egyptian Church, National Council for Women, health and population directorate, health care authority, and comprehensive health insurance.
The meeting also discussed the proposed services to be provided during the initiative, such as activating mobile units for documentation services under the Real Estate Registry, setting up fixed and mobile outlets, opening outlets in schools in the most needy villages to sell school supplies at discounted prices, as well as organizing „Welcome Schools“ exhibitions. The initiative includes several sub-initiatives, including the planting of 100 million trees, „Your Service in Your Village,“ „Your Responsibility Behind You,“ „100 Days of Health,“ and citizen listening sessions.
The presidential initiative „Bidayat Jadida“ is a reflection of the political leadership’s vision to build an advanced and integrated society with the primary goal of human development. It is the result of collective work by all ministries and state entities in Egypt, with the participation of civil society and the private sector. Sustainable development programs encompass all areas of health, education, culture, sports, job opportunities, and comprehensive services with support from Al-Azhar, religious endowments, and the Church to maximize the benefits for citizens and achieve sustainable human development.
It is essential for all executive bodies to unify their efforts, harness all available resources, and develop comprehensive action plans across all sectors to achieve the goals of the initiative. This will ensure the maximum benefit for the residents of Ismailia and enhance the effectiveness of the initiative, which includes the pillars of sustainable human development in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
