30 representatives of companies discuss strengthening the management of zakat administration

Sungai Buloh recently hosted a session of Dizkopi Zakat Selangor, where more than 30 representatives from various companies, including executives and top management, gathered to delve into current issues related to zakat management. Dizkopi is a strategic initiative organized by the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) with the aim of strengthening zakat management and collection by creating a platform to bring together religious leaders and corporate figures.

Mohd. Sabirin Mohd. Sarbini, the Chief Executive Officer of LZS, emphasized that the main focus of Dizkopi is to explore new approaches that are more effective in increasing and empowering zakat collection, ensuring transparent and efficient distribution of zakat funds. He highlighted the importance of fostering close cooperation between religious institutions and corporate companies through such discussions.

„I hope that the exchange of ideas among the panelists can serve as a catalyst for innovation and improvement in making zakat management the best, especially in advocating for the welfare of the needy (asnaf) and advancing the well-being of the community as a whole,“ he stated during the event.

The program aims to raise awareness and importance of zakat among corporate leaders, build strategic partnerships between LZS and the corporate sector, and enrich innovative ideas and approaches in zakat management. Participating companies included Menteri Besar Selangor (Pemerbadanan) (MBI), Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad, Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad, Koridor Utiliti Selangor, Central Spektrum Sdn Bhd, Kumpulan Hartanah Selangor Berhad, Columbia Asia, and others.

The event kicked off with a casual discussion involving three main panelists: Mufti Selangor, Datuk Prof. Madya Dr. Anhar Opir; former Chief Executive Officer of Tabung Haji, Datuk Nik Mohd. Hasyudeen Yusoff; and Chief Executive Officer of MBI, Saipolyazan M. Yusop. They discussed leadership, the importance of zakat, and the significance of integrity and innovation in zakat management and social development.

This was followed by a roundtable discussion involving executives from corporate companies and key leaders in the corporate sector. The resolutions discussed will be elevated to the highest level of LZS to be included in the agenda for strengthening zakat collection and distribution in Selangor.

In conclusion, the Dizkopi Zakat Selangor session in Sungai Buloh served as a platform for fruitful discussions, idea exchange, and collaboration between religious and corporate entities to enhance zakat management practices and ensure the well-being of the community.
