This past weekend, the Baranya County Disaster Management Directorate received several reports of incidents that required their immediate attention.
In Nagyváty, a fire broke out in a house, engulfing the roof structure in flames. The professional firefighters from Szigetvár and Sellye rushed to the scene, but by the time they arrived, the roof structure was already fully ablaze. The cause of the fire was believed to be an electrical fault in the attic. Fortunately, there were no individuals inside the house at the time of the fire, as reported by the Disaster Management Directorate.
In Siklós, a storage room attached to a residential building caught fire due to an electrical short circuit. The residents initiated firefighting efforts before the professional firefighters from Siklós and Villány arrived on the scene. Thankfully, there were no personal injuries reported during this incident.
Moving on to Pécs, on the outskirts of the city, a car caught fire and was completely engulfed in flames. The Pécs unit extinguished the fire with two hoses and used a thermal camera to inspect the vehicle. The driver was the sole occupant of the car and sustained minor burns while trying to salvage valuables from the vehicle. The emergency medical service personnel provided the necessary medical attention. During the firefighting operation, the affected section of the road was closed off, with traffic being directed by the police.
The Disaster Management Directorate was also called for technical rescues. In the outskirts of Majs, a small truck transporting parts collided with a tree. The driver, the only person in the vehicle, managed to exit on their own. The professional firefighters from Mohács and volunteers from Majs responded to the scene promptly.
In Pécs, on Makay István Street, two cars collided, fortunately without causing any personal injuries.
In another incident in Siklós, two cars collided, causing one of them to veer off the road and knock down a tree. Three individuals were involved in the accident, but thankfully, everyone emerged unharmed. The professional firefighters from Siklós inspected and disconnected the vehicles, as well as removed the fallen tree.
These incidents highlight the importance of prompt response and effective coordination in managing emergencies. The dedication and quick action of the firefighters and emergency responders played a crucial role in ensuring the safety of the individuals involved in these incidents. Stay safe and vigilant on the roads, and remember to prioritize safety in all situations.
