WARTAKOTALIVE.COM, JAKARTA – Komunitas Warteg Merah Putih DKI Jakarta recently made a heartwarming gesture by distributing 1,000 boxed meals to the community they encountered on Jalan Kemanggisan, Palmerah, Jakarta Barat, on Friday (18/10/2024). This initiative was part of their support for the ‚Jakarta Bebas Lapar‘ program led by the Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor candidates, Pramono-Rano.
The community members were delighted to receive the boxed meals, with Rahmat, a 45-year-old online motorcycle taxi driver, expressing his gratitude for the free meal. „As an ojol driver, I work on the streets every day. Suddenly, while passing by after delivering an order, I was given a boxed meal. I am happy because it’s unexpected and a blessing since I hadn’t had lunch yet,“ Rahmat shared at the location on Friday.
Rahmat also voiced his support for such activities to be continued by all communities, whether in support of political candidates during the Jakarta gubernatorial election or not. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in providing assistance to those in need.
The Chairman of the Warteg Merah Putih Community, Yuliati, explained that the distribution of boxed meals to passersby aimed to support Pramono Anung-Rano Karno’s ‚Jakarta Bebas Lapar‘ program. Yuliati highlighted that the activity was part of a blessed Friday event at the campaign headquarters of Pramono and Rano, with the tagline ‚Jakarta must be free from hunger.‘
Yuliati further elaborated that each boxed meal contained a variety of dishes, including chicken, eggs, potato fritters, and crackers. The community strives to hold this free boxed meal distribution once a week, hoping for its smooth continuation to support the program initiated by Pramono and Rano.
