Mladá Boleslav, a charming town in the Czech Republic, has recently acquired another piece of land in the Debř district from the state, free of charge. The city plans to develop a leisure area on this plot of over 1500 square meters, which is adjacent to a larger piece of land that the municipality obtained from the Office for Representation of the State in Property Matters two years ago. The progress on preparing the area was delayed by a biological survey of the location, but now the design work is underway, as stated by the mayor of Mladá Boleslav, Jiří Bouška.
The project is still in the preparation phase, with documentation for building permits being worked on, according to Bouška. He mentioned that the intention has undergone an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) review.
The ownership of the last plot in the land registry was transferred at the end of September, as confirmed by the spokesperson for the property office, Michaela Tesařová. The land was acquired by the office from the former District Office in Mladá Boleslav.
The envisioned area, spanning around 30,000 square meters, is set to include amenities such as a children’s playground, a football field with facilities, and an outdoor gym. The construction was planned to be carried out in two stages, with work on the first part expected to commence last year. „The project preparation was delayed by the biological survey of the location, and the start of work is anticipated in 2025,“ said the city’s spokesperson, Šárka Charousková. The initial cost estimate by the city was around 22 million Czech korunas, but it is likely to be significantly higher, as mentioned by Bouška.
Debř, a suburban part of Mladá Boleslav located in the north, is separated from other parts of the city by a first-class road. The sports facilities in other areas of the city are not easily accessible to the residents of Debř. The leisure area is planned to be developed between Josefodolská Street and the Jizera River.
The addition of this new leisure area in Mladá Boleslav’s Debř district is a promising development that will enhance the quality of life for residents and provide a space for recreational activities. The city’s commitment to creating such amenities showcases its dedication to improving the well-being of its citizens and fostering a vibrant community spirit.
