As I sit down to reflect on my first 100 days as CEO of The Trevor Project, I am filled with a mix of emotions – excitement, gratitude, and a healthy dose of nerves. Taking on this role has been both a privilege and a challenge, but I am proud of the progress we have made in such a short amount of time.
One of the first things I focused on when I stepped into this position was getting to know the incredible team that makes up The Trevor Project. From our dedicated staff to our passionate volunteers, I have been blown away by the talent and commitment of everyone involved. Building strong relationships with my colleagues has been crucial in navigating the complexities of leading such an important organization.
In my first 100 days, I have also had the opportunity to connect with our community of LGBTQ+ youth and allies. Hearing their stories, struggles, and triumphs has been both humbling and inspiring. It has reinforced the importance of the work we do at The Trevor Project and has motivated me to continue pushing for progress and change.
One of the biggest challenges I have faced in my first 100 days as CEO has been navigating the ever-changing landscape of mental health and LGBTQ+ advocacy. The issues facing our community are complex and multifaceted, requiring a nuanced and strategic approach. I have spent countless hours researching, listening, and learning in order to best serve the needs of those we aim to support.
Despite the challenges, there have been many moments of celebration and success in my first 100 days. From launching new programs to expanding our reach and impact, I am proud of the strides we have made as an organization. But I also recognize that there is still much work to be done, and I am committed to continuing to push for progress and change.
Looking ahead, I am excited about the future of The Trevor Project and the opportunities that lie ahead. I am grateful for the support of our community, our partners, and our donors, and I am confident that together we can make a real difference in the lives of LGBTQ+ youth.
Reflecting on my first 100 days as CEO of The Trevor Project has been a whirlwind of emotions and experiences. It has been a journey filled with challenges, triumphs, and moments of growth. But most importantly, it has been a journey filled with purpose and passion. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead such an incredible organization, and I am excited to see what the future holds.
