Top blockchain games of July 2024

Blockchain games have been gaining popularity in recent years, with more and more players getting involved in this new and exciting space. In this article, we will take a look at some of the most popular blockchain games based on data from DappRadar.

One of the standout games in the blockchain gaming space is Pixels, which saw a 69% decline in daily onchain activity following the release of its Chapter 2 build. However, the game managed to regain much of its audience during July, thanks in part to the reworking of its reward system and changes to how the bots operate. Despite the initial decline, Pixels remains the most popular blockchain game in terms of raw daily onchain activity, with a significant lead over its competitors.

While Pixels continues to dominate the blockchain gaming scene, other games are also making waves. One such game is Blocklords Dynasty, a fully onchain idle RPG that saw a surge in popularity during July. The game peaked at around 130,000 daily active unique wallets and one million unique wallets prior to the end of its LRDS token airdrop campaign. With around 3 million daily transactions on the Base blockchain, Blocklords Dynasty has become Base’s largest app by far.

Another game that saw significant growth in July is Catizen, a TON-based cat-clicking game that generated over 100,000 daily active unique wallets. The game is building up to its CATI token launch, although there have been some delays. Despite this, Catizen’s developer claims 26 million lifetime users on Telegram, highlighting the potential for growth in the blockchain gaming space.

Boomland’s main activity came from Hunters On-Chain, which completed season one of its BOOM token airdrop. The company is also looking to onboard web2 players to web3 through Immutable’s Passport wallet and is experimenting with Telegram as a user acquisition channel.

In terms of newly launched blockchain games, Wild Forest, a Ronin-based real-time strategy game, saw strong growth in July. The game is set to launch its WF token later in 2024 and is currently available through app stores, with a PC version in the works. While Wild Forest may not reach the same level of success as Pixels, it offers a compelling experience for players looking for quick PVP competition.

Overall, the blockchain gaming space is evolving rapidly, with new games and platforms emerging all the time. While some games like Pixels continue to dominate the market, others like Blocklords Dynasty and Catizen are gaining traction and building their audiences. With the potential for growth and innovation in this space, it will be interesting to see how blockchain games continue to evolve in the future.
