The marketing and advertising industry is constantly evolving, with new trends and technologies shaping the way brands connect with consumers. In order to stay ahead in this competitive landscape, it is crucial for young professionals to have access to experienced mentors who can provide guidance, support, and valuable insights. Recognizing this need, IAPI and The Marketing Society have joined forces to launch the STEPS mentorship program, aimed at cultivating the next generation of talent in the industry.
After a rigorous selection process, 37 mentors from various sectors of the advertising and marketing industry have been chosen to participate in the program. These mentors were selected based on their extensive experience, leadership qualities, and dedication to nurturing talent. Each mentor is required to have over 10 years of industry experience and has undergone a series of interviews to assess their mentorship philosophies and commitment to making a positive impact on their mentees.
To ensure that the mentors are well-equipped to provide effective guidance, a specialized training session will be held on Thursday, August 22. The training session, hosted by Accenture Dock and facilitated by Danica Murphy, founder of PRISM, will provide mentors with the tools and insights necessary to support their mentees in navigating the challenges of the industry. This training is essential in ensuring that the mentorship relationships are productive and beneficial for both parties involved.
Adam Brannigan, group account director at Frank & Bear and IAPI board member, expressed his excitement about the launch of the STEPS mentorship program. He emphasized the importance of experienced professionals sharing their knowledge and guiding the next generation of leaders in the industry. Through the ‚Muscle Up Your Mentoring‘ training, mentors are prepared to offer unparalleled support and guidance to their mentees, fostering a culture of excellence and growth within the industry.
Laura Cassidy, manager at Accenture Song and Marketing Society Future Council Chairperson, was impressed by the caliber of mentor applications for the program. She highlighted the enthusiasm and willingness of mentors to share their skills and experience with the next generation. Cassidy emphasized the positive impact that the program will have on forging symbiotic relationships throughout the industry, benefiting both mentors and mentees.
The list of professionals who will serve as mentors in this year’s STEPS program includes a diverse group of individuals from agencies such as Droga5 Dublin, Edelman, Mindshare, and Omnicom Media Group. These mentors bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the program, ensuring that mentees receive valuable guidance and support as they navigate their careers in the industry.
Overall, the STEPS mentorship program is set to become a cornerstone for nurturing talent in the marketing and advertising industry. By providing young professionals with access to experienced mentors, the program aims to foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and growth within the industry. Through the guidance and support of these mentors, the next generation of leaders will be well-equipped to succeed in this dynamic and competitive field.
