The chase began around 8 p.m. when Los Angeles police started pursuing a black sedan believed to be stolen. The vehicle weaved through neighborhoods in southern Los Angeles County for more than an hour, with at least five police SUVs closely following behind.
Despite driving within the speed limit on surface streets in areas like South Gate, Huntington Park, and East Los Angeles, the suspect ran red lights and showed signs of evading law enforcement. The chase took a surprising turn when the suspect abandoned the black sedan and jumped into a waiting white car.
