Coshocton County Recycling and Litter Prevention, in collaboration with CES Credit Union, is gearing up for an exciting electronic and shredding day event on Saturday, August 17th at the Coshocton County Fairgrounds. This event aims to provide the community with a convenient and safe way to dispose of their electronic waste and sensitive documents.
Document shredding will be available until the truck reaches full capacity, and it is important to note that this service is for personal use only. Businesses will not be accepted, and each vehicle will be allowed to bring up to two file size boxes for shredding. Participants are reminded to remove all clips and binders from the paper before dropping it off.
In addition to document shredding, various types of electronics will be accepted for recycling at no cost. Items such as computers, laptops, printers, cables, keyboards, microwaves, VHS/DVD players, and cell phones will be welcomed. However, there will be a nominal fee of $5.00 for computer monitors and $1.00 per diagonal inch for TVs.
Alex Nelson, the program director of the recycling office, emphasized the importance of providing the community with a proper avenue for disposing of electronic waste and personal documents. She expressed concern over the prevalence of littering as a means of getting rid of electronics, citing instances of TVs and other devices being found along rural roads. Nelson highlighted the significance of events like this in promoting responsible recycling practices.
James McLaughlin, the marketing director of CES Credit Union, underscored the importance of securely disposing of sensitive documents and devices to prevent identity theft and fraud. By sponsoring this event, CES Credit Union aims to support the community in safeguarding their personal and financial information. Karen Wright, the manager of CES Coshocton, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the credit union’s commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
The collaboration between Coshocton County Recycling and Litter Prevention and CES Credit Union for this electronic and shredding day event signifies a proactive approach towards promoting environmental sustainability and protecting personal information. Community members are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to responsibly dispose of their electronic waste and sensitive documents.
