Boss Team Games has made a big splash in the gaming world with their surprise announcement of two new games set to release this October. The studio, known for their love of horror, is diving into the genre with RetroRealms, a new series of games for consoles and PC. The first two games in this series are based on the iconic horror franchise Halloween and the Starz original series Ash vs Evil Dead.
In a press release, Boss Team Games‘ CEO Steve Harris expressed his excitement about working on these legendary properties, stating that it has been a dream come true for the team. Collaborating with WayForward and the licensors, Boss Team Games has created two fast-paced 90’s arcade style games that stay true to the original Halloween film and ‚Ash vs Evil Dead‘ series. The newly released trailer gives fans a glimpse of the gore-filled gameplay and fast-paced action that awaits them.
Both RetroRealms: Halloween and RetroRealms: Ash vs Evil Dead are 16-bit platformers set to release on PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox on October 18. Players have the option to purchase each game separately for $24.99 or opt for the physical Double Feature bundle priced at $49.99. While the games can be enjoyed individually, Boss Team Games encourages players to purchase both as it will unlock new features for an enhanced gaming experience.
The announcement of these two games is just the beginning of Boss Team Games‘ ambitious projects. IGN recently revealed that the studio is also working on a game based on John Carpenter’s Halloween IP, running on Unreal Engine 5. With franchise creator John Carpenter deeply involved in the project, fans can expect an immersive and authentic gaming experience.
As Boss Team Games continues to expand their portfolio with exciting horror-themed titles, fans can look forward to more thrilling announcements in the future. Stay tuned for updates on these upcoming releases and immerse yourself in the world of RetroRealms this October.
