Spatial Audio Now Accessible in Rivian Vehicles through Apple Music

Rivian, the electric vehicle manufacturer known for its innovative technology and sustainable approach to transportation, has recently announced a groundbreaking partnership with Apple Music. As part of Rivian’s Connect+ subscription service, users can now enjoy seamless access to Apple Music’s extensive library of music, playlists, and radio stations directly from their R1T truck or R1S SUV.

The integration of Apple Music into Rivian’s infotainment system marks a significant step forward in enhancing the in-car entertainment experience for Rivian owners. With over 100 million songs at their fingertips, users can easily create personalized playlists, discover new music, and enjoy their favorite tracks while on the road.

One of the standout features of this collaboration is the support for Dolby Atmos spatial audio in vehicles equipped with Rivian’s Premium Audio system. This cutting-edge technology allows music to be experienced in a more immersive and three-dimensional space, creating a truly captivating listening experience for passengers.

To access Apple Music and other streaming services through Rivian’s infotainment system, users will need to subscribe to Rivian’s Connect+ service. Priced at $14.99 per month or $149.99 annually, Connect+ offers a range of additional features such as Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities, satellite imagery, and enhanced voice commands via Alexa.

In a move that sets Rivian apart from other automakers, CEO RJ Scaringe has made it clear that the company has no plans to introduce support for Apple CarPlay in its vehicles. Instead, Rivian aims to provide a seamless and holistic digital experience that is consistent across all touchpoints within the vehicle.

For those interested in trying out Rivian’s Connect+ subscription, the company is currently offering a two-month free trial starting today. This presents an excellent opportunity for Rivian owners to experience the full range of features and benefits that come with the subscription service, including access to Apple Music with spatial audio.

Overall, the integration of Apple Music into Rivian’s electric vehicles represents a significant milestone in the evolution of in-car entertainment. By combining cutting-edge technology with a user-friendly interface, Rivian is setting a new standard for the automotive industry and redefining the driving experience for its customers.
