Fashion lovers in the UK are in for a treat as Australia’s largest clothing market, Fashion Thrift Society, is making its highly anticipated return to the country following a successful inaugural event. The event offers shoppers the chance to snap up vintage and pre-loved fashion gems, making it a must-visit for those looking for unique and sustainable fashion finds.
After its successful launch in Manchester and London in 2023, Fashion Thrift Society is expanding its footprint to five cities in the UK. This year’s tour includes stop-offs in Bristol, Leeds, and Birmingham, in addition to the original locations. The market’s tour kicks off in Manchester on Saturday, August 31 at the Sugden Sports Centre at Manchester Metropolitan University, where 95 stalls will showcase a range of fashion finds for attendees to explore.
Following the Manchester event, Fashion Thrift Society will make its way across the UK, with dates in Birmingham, Leeds, and London. Each city will offer a unique shopping experience, with stalls showcasing vintage and pre-loved items for fashion enthusiasts to peruse. The London event, spread over two days in September, will feature 130 stalls, making it the largest event in the series.
Each event will be open to the public from 10am until 4pm, giving shoppers plenty of time to browse and shop. Attendees can expect to find a wide range of vintage outfits from some of the cities‘ biggest content creators and emerging local brands. The carefully curated selection includes gender-neutral, contemporary fashion for men and women, plus-size attire, designer garments, handmade clothing, footwear, accessories, home décor, and products from local businesses and art pieces.
In addition to the shopping experience, attendees can enjoy a variety of activities and services at the market. Free tattoos, barbers, nail art, tooth gems, piercings, and henna will be available, along with live music from a selection of DJs. Food trucks will be on-site for attendees to grab a bite to eat, and organizers will be conducting interviews with fashion lovers about their best outfits.
Tickets for the Manchester event on August 31 start from £6 for students and £7 for non-students. Entry times vary, with prices ranging from £4 to £7 depending on the time of entry. Children aged 12 and under and individuals aged 65 and over receive complimentary admission, as do those whose birthdays fall on the market day.
