Amazon introduces shoppable ads on TikTok and Pinterest

Amazon is expanding its e-commerce reach by partnering with two leading social media platforms, TikTok and Pinterest, to offer shoppable ads to users. This move allows Amazon to tap into the vast user bases of these platforms and provide a seamless shopping experience for customers.

On TikTok, users can now discover and purchase products from Amazon directly within the app. Amazon has integrated shoppable ads on TikTok, allowing users to complete purchases without leaving the TikTok environment. Users will see Amazon product recommendations on their „For You“ feed, and can link their TikTok account to their Amazon account for a quick and secure one-time set-up. This integration enables users to view real-time pricing, Prime eligibility, delivery estimates, and product details on select Amazon product ads in TikTok. The collaboration between Amazon and TikTok aims to create a frictionless shopping experience for users and enhance the overall shopping experience on the platform.

In a similar fashion, Amazon is also partnering with Pinterest to offer shoppable ads and linked accounts for users. This partnership builds on Amazon’s existing relationship with Pinterest, where Amazon already places ads from companies participating in its Sponsored Products program. Pinterest has been integrating third-party promotions from the Amazon Ads program into its site, providing users with a seamless on-Amazon buying experience since spring 2023. This collaboration allows Amazon to leverage Pinterest’s user base and drive sales through targeted advertising and promotions.

The partnership between Amazon, TikTok, and Pinterest highlights the growing trend of social commerce, where social media platforms are increasingly becoming shopping destinations for users. By integrating shoppable ads and linked accounts, Amazon is able to reach a wider audience and provide a convenient shopping experience for customers.
