Walk With Scott Charity Day is set to take place this Saturday at Cockenzie House and Gardens, promising a day filled with live music, delicious food, and fun activities for all ages. The event will feature a lineup of both up-and-coming talent and seasoned performers, entertaining attendees from 2pm to 8pm on the outdoor stage.
For those looking to quench their thirst, licensed bars will be serving drinks from noon to 9pm. Food options will also be plentiful, with the Tuk-In Pizza van parked outside and Cafe Filly offering tasty treats inside Cockenzie House.
Children will have a blast at the event with a nine-hole crazy golf course and giant outdoor games to enjoy. Additionally, visitors can explore the art galleries, shop, and small business studios located inside the house. A Makers Market will also be running on the same day from 10am to 3pm, providing a unique shopping experience for attendees.
All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the Walk With Scott Foundation, a charity founded by the late Scott Glynn in 2013. Despite his passing in 2020, Scott’s legacy lives on through the foundation, which raises money for local causes. Scott was recognized for his charitable efforts with an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
In addition to the live music and activities, a raffle will be held at the charity day, and collection buckets will be placed throughout the venue to raise funds for the foundation. The money raised from the event will specifically support The Haven, an organization based at The Fraser Centre in Tranent that helps families with children struggling with mental health issues.
Karen Kidd, secretary of the Walk With Scott Foundation, expressed the importance of the event, stating, „It’s something very close to all of our hearts. Saturday’s event is going to be a great day. Let’s just hope there’s no rain!“ Following the charity day, the foundation’s biggest fundraiser of the year, a walk through the streets of East Lothian, is scheduled for August 31.
