The education sector is not exempt from the shortage of manpower

As the new school year approaches, school service centers (CSS) are diligently working to fill the remaining teaching staff positions. The planning process for the upcoming school year begins as early as the end of the student registration process in the spring. This allows CSS to anticipate the needs of each school based on the student population and make necessary adjustments as the situation evolves due to various factors such as moves, parental leave, disabilities, and retirements.

The planning process is a complex one that involves national agreements and collaboration with multiple departments within each CSS, as well as the school management. Information is also shared with local unions throughout the process to ensure transparency and communication. This year, assignment sessions for teachers were scheduled to be completed by August 8, allowing some teachers to receive their assignments earlier than in previous years.

However, the assignment process continues beyond August 8 for other categories of teachers, ensuring that all vacant positions are gradually filled before the start of the school year. Various initiatives are being implemented to attract new talent to the education sector, such as open recruitment days, hiring teachers from abroad, posting job offers on specialized platforms, and participating in job fairs.

The education sector, like many others, is facing a labor shortage, making it crucial to promote career opportunities in education and highlight the importance of the work done by educators. Despite the challenges, school network staff are dedicated to providing stimulating learning environments that cater to the needs of students. It is essential to recognize and celebrate the hard work and dedication of those working in the education sector.

The recruitment and staffing processes will continue throughout the school year to ensure that all positions are filled with qualified and dedicated individuals who are committed to providing quality education to students.
