Legendary’s Monsterverse is expanding beyond the big screen and into the world of video games with the announcement of three new games featuring Godzilla and Kong. The first of these games, Godzilla x Kong: Titan Chasers, is set to release on September 5th and will be a mobile-only 4X strategy game developed by Hunted Cow Games. In this game, players will have to build bases and engage in turn-based combat against a variety of monsters, including Skullcrawlers, Mother Longlegs, and more. The game will not only feature Godzilla and Kong but also other iconic creatures from the Monsterverse.
Another game in the works is Kong: Survivor Instinct, which will focus solely on Kong. Developed by 7Levels, this 2.5D game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms. Players will take on the role of a father searching for his missing daughter in a city under threat from monstrous creatures. While a release date for Kong: Survivor Instinct has not been announced, fans can expect it to launch later this year.
The third game in development is a unique collaboration between Legendary and Roblox, titled Monsterverse Roblox. This game will allow Roblox players to experience the creatures from the Monsterverse in innovative ways. While details about the gameplay are scarce, this will be the first official and „persistent licensed Monsterverse“ experience in Roblox. Like Kong: Survivor Instinct, Monsterverse Roblox is set to release later this year, although a specific launch date has not been revealed.
Paweł Biela, co-founder of 7Levels, expressed excitement about working on the Monsterverse IP, stating, „The opportunity to work on the hugely popular Monsterverse IP has been an exciting and formative experience for all of us at 7Levels.“ The collaboration with Legendary has allowed the developers to capture the essence of the Monsterverse and recreate it in their game.
