BBC Studios is undergoing a significant transformation in its content sales strategy under the leadership of Janet Brown. Over the past few years, the BBC’s commercial arm has been consolidating several divisions to launch a global content sales unit, with Brown overseeing content sales across all regions and centralizing global operations and content investments.
As part of this change, BBC Studios has appointed a new EVP, Global Content Sales, based in London and reporting to Brown. This role will serve as the key global partner for BBC Studios‘ producers and invested production labels worldwide, including North Elk Productions and Steve Coogan’s Baby Cow.
Brown joined BBC Studios in 2022 and leads sales in North America and Latin America. She continues to report to Rebecca Glashow, the General Manager of BBC Global Media & Streaming.

In recent years, BBC Studios has undergone several changes, including the establishment of a new global entertainment group led by Matt Forde and a creative division within this group led by Karl Warner, merging entertainment, music, and factual entertainment in the UK under Suzy Lamb’s leadership. Valerie Bruce, the head of BBCS LA Productions in the US, stepped down during the restructuring.
BBC Studios is known for selling popular shows like Doctor Who, Bluey, and Death in Paradise and has a multitude of hubs worldwide.
