The Bellaire Business Alliance has announced the postponement of its third annual Bellaire Business Bash Car Show at Union Square Park in Bellaire. Originally scheduled for August 2nd, the event will now take place on August 16th. Registration will begin at 3 p.m. on 36th Street with a registration fee of $12. The car show itself will kick off at 5 p.m., with judging starting at 6 p.m. and the event concluding at 8:30 p.m.
While the event is primarily a car show, trucks and motorcycles will also be competing for prizes. Dash plaques will be awarded to the first 200 registrants, and over 50 trophies will be given out across various categories including cars, bikes, and trucks. Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase event T-shirts to commemorate the occasion.
The Bellaire Business Alliance is aiming to have cars lined up along the entire stretch of Belmont Street for the event. Additionally, the Designated Outdoor Refreshment Areas (DORA) will be in effect, allowing attendees to purchase a cup from one of the bars and walk through the event with their alcoholic beverages. However, cups must be discarded before entering another establishment.
Lori Vinka, president of the Bellaire Business Alliance, anticipates that the Business Bash will be the largest DORA event that the village of Bellaire has seen thus far. With numerous vendors, food options from local restaurants, and live music provided by Taylor Jo and the Copper Creek Band and DJ Bobby Bandonee, the event promises to be a lively and entertaining evening for all who attend.
The origins of the Bellaire Business Bash trace back to a group of Bellaire residents who began gathering at the park every Friday during the COVID-19 pandemic to showcase their cars and support local businesses. This grassroots initiative inspired the Bellaire Business Alliance to organize the annual car show as a way to give back to the community and promote local businesses.
Vinka emphasized the importance of the car show in bringing foot traffic to Bellaire and highlighting the town’s businesses. She noted that many residents enjoy attending car shows for the nostalgia they evoke, transporting them back to the heydays of the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s when the town was bustling with activity.
The Bellaire Business Alliance has secured sponsorship from various local businesses for the event, including B&R Auto Repair, Belmont Savings Bank, and Sons of Italy Lodge 754, among others. These sponsors play a crucial role in supporting the event and ensuring its success.
Overall, the Bellaire Business Bash Car Show promises to be a fun-filled evening for car enthusiasts, residents, and visitors alike. With a wide range of vehicles on display, live music, food vendors, and the lively atmosphere of the DORA, this event is sure to be a highlight of the summer in Bellaire.
