The Bizerkeley Food Festival is back for its fourth annual event, promising a day filled with delicious vegan food, drinks, entertainment, and more. This year’s festival, set to take place on September 1 at Berkeley’s Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center Park, is expected to be the largest vegan fest of its kind in Northern California. With over 100 vendors, including popular Bay Area food-and-drink pop-ups, a vegan-fashion show, and a wings-eating contest inspired by the popular „Hot Ones“ series, attendees are in for a treat.
One of the highlights of the festival is the diverse range of vendors offering a variety of vegan delights. From savory dishes to sweet treats, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Many vendors will be giving away free samples, allowing attendees to taste a wide array of food, alcoholic and zero-proof drinks. Some of the vendors include All Pau Berkeley, known for their pan-Asian flavors of Hawaii, Dr Hops Hard Kombucha from Oakland, offering alcoholic beverages made with organic ingredients, and Mad Vegan Co. from Oakland, a Latina-owned bakery serving up cookies, conchas, and Salvadorean pound cake.
In addition to the food and drinks, the festival will also feature a beer garden, a kids‘ area with games, a „petting zone“ with adoptable animals, and a special performance by StunnaMan02, who will be singing his single „Eat a Salad.“ For those looking to give back, there will be a silent auction with proceeds going towards Vacaville’s Herd and Flock Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming neglected farm animals.
The festival is the brainchild of The Bizerkeley Vegan, also known as entrepreneur Erika Hazel, who founded the event in 2021. Since then, the festival has grown in popularity, attracting vegans and non-vegans alike who are eager to explore the world of plant-based cuisine. Advance discounted tickets are currently on sale for $10, with tickets at the door priced at $14.
With a lineup of vendors from all over the Bay Area, including Oakland, San Francisco, Hayward, and more, the Bizerkeley Food Festival promises to be a culinary adventure like no other. Whether you’re a seasoned vegan or just curious to try something new, this festival is the perfect opportunity to indulge in delicious food and support local businesses. Don’t miss out on this exciting event on September 1 at 2151 Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Berkeley. Tickets are available on Eventbrite, and more information can be found on the festival’s Instagram page at instagram.com/bizerkeleyfoodfest.
