Boise Airport to undergo major food and drink renovation and expansion, including Starbucks, Treefort, and more options

Major food, drink, and retail changes are on the horizon for the Boise Airport, promising an exciting transformation for travelers passing through. If approved by the Boise City Council, new contracts will bring a fresh lineup of dining and shopping options that reflect the growing and evolving city of Boise.

The airport concessions operators, Delaware North and Paradies Lagardere, are set to present new contracts to the council later this month. This will mark the beginning of an almost entirely new lineup of food, beverage, and retail options at the airport. According to a Boise Airport media release, all current offerings will either transition to new concepts or be updated to provide a more modern and diverse experience for travelers.

One of the most anticipated changes is the introduction of a Treefort Music Fest-branded restaurant and bar. This unique concept will bring a touch of local culture and entertainment to the airport, with live music performances and a vibrant atmosphere. Additionally, travelers can look forward to familiar brands like Starbucks, Protein Bar & Kitchen, Pizza Hut, and Wendy’s, as well as local favorites such as Flying M Coffee, The STIL ice cream shop, and Waffle Me Up.

Local concepts will also be integrated into the retail side of the airport, showcasing regional beer and wines, Idaho Candy Company products, Buy Idaho goods, and other local artisans. The retail stores will pay homage to Idaho staples like the Capital City Market, the Boise Depot, and the Sawtooth Mountains, creating a sense of connection to the region for travelers passing through.

The new brands and concepts have been carefully selected through a public solicitation process for proposals and will be part of new 10-year agreements. Modern upgrades such as mobile and QR-code food ordering, self-operated kiosks, and digital wallet payments will also be introduced to enhance the overall airport experience.

Pending approval from the Boise City Council, construction of the new eateries and retail outlets could begin as early as October. The process will be executed in phases to ensure that concessions remain available throughout the changes, with more airport square footage allocated to food and beverage options upon completion.

An open house is planned for this summer to showcase the new options to the public, including additional spaces in the food court and a new 400-square-foot wine bar and small bites café on Concourse C. With over 4.75 million passengers served in 2023, the Boise Airport is gearing up to offer a fresh and exciting experience for travelers in the coming years.
