The Bristol Norfolk Public Health Partners are hosting a blood pressure screening event at the Boyden Library on Thursday, Aug. 8 at 11 a.m. This is a great opportunity for individuals to check their blood pressure and ensure they are maintaining good health. Registration for the event is encouraged, and interested participants can sign up on the library’s website at boydenlibrary.org/calendar.
In addition to the blood pressure screening, the library is offering a variety of other engaging programs and events for the community to enjoy. One such event is the Drop-In Tech Help session on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. If you need assistance with a new device or have a basic technology question, Libby will be available to provide one-on-one help and guidance.
For movie enthusiasts, the library is hosting a virtual Q&A session titled ‚Bruce Willis: Celebrating the Cinematic Legacy‘ on Monday, Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. Author Sean O’Connell will lead the discussion on Bruce Willis‘ life, work, and future, as well as the age-old debate of whether „Die Hard“ is a Christmas movie. Participants can register for this event on the library’s website.
For those looking for a fun and challenging activity, Wicked Fun Games will be presenting an Escape Room event titled ‚Escape From Terrible Thicket‘ on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m. This event is for adults only, and registration is required on the library’s website.
Book lovers can join the Common Talk (About Books!) event on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. Participants are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair to the Town Common to discuss their favorite books. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the Fuller Conference room.
The Boyden Library has also introduced a new mobile printing solution called Princh, which allows patrons to print documents directly from their mobile devices. This new application replaces PrinterOn, and patrons can download the Princh app or visit the library’s website for more information on how to use this service.
For those looking for a summer challenge, the library is hosting the Boyden Library Book Bingo event. Participants can complete any 5 bingo squares in a row between June 24 and Aug. 16 to earn a prize. Those who submit their completed bingo card by Aug. 16 will be entered into a drawing to win a gift card from local businesses.
The library’s hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Summer Saturdays).
