Chicago burglary suspects utilizing stolen vehicles and chains to break into businesses – NBC Chicago

Chicago police are currently investigating a series of burglaries in which thieves have targeted businesses by ripping off doors using chains and stolen vehicles. These incidents have occurred between August 2 and Sunday morning, primarily on the South and Far South sides of the city. The suspects gained entry into the establishments by placing a chain on the front door and using a vehicle to pull the door off. Once inside, they proceeded to steal items such as cash registers, ATMs, and merchandise.

– August 10 at 5 a.m. – 800 block of East 87th Street
– August 14 at 5:20 a.m. – 400 block of East 83rd Street
– August 16 at 6:14 a.m. – 200 block of West 119th Street
– August 17 at 5:57 a.m. – 1800 block of West 87th Street
– August 21 at 4:47 a.m. – 1800 block of East 87th Street
– August 21 at 5:37 a.m. – 800 block of West 119th Street
– August 22 at 4 a.m. – 8400 block of South Vincennes Avenue
