Closing Soon: Free Entry Offer for Unpaid Carers

Unpaid carers in Leicestershire who hold a valid Carers Passport are being offered a special opportunity to enjoy a day out at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre and the 1620s House and Gardens. This offer includes a free adult admission ticket, valid for 12 months from the date of issue, as well as a complimentary tea or coffee (and cake at the 1620s House) on their first visit. However, it’s important to note that this offer does not include special events or activities that may incur an additional cost.

The deadline for carers to take advantage of this offer is approaching, with applications closing on Saturday, August 31st. Councillor Christine Radford, county council cabinet member for adults and communities, is urging unpaid carers to register for a Carers Passport as soon as possible to not only benefit from this offer but also to gain access to Leicestershire’s Support for Carers service, which provides valuable advice and support.

A Carers Passport serves as an ID card for adults caring for a loved one, friend, or neighbor aged 18 and over in Leicestershire who require their support to manage daily tasks. These carers are not employed to provide care but do so out of love and dedication. To apply for a Carers Passport, individuals can contact Support for Carers by phone at 01858 468543 or via email at maureen@supportforcarers.org. When applying, be sure to mention the code FREEPASS 2024. More information about the application process can be found on the Support for Carers website at www.supportforcarers.org.

For those interested in learning more about the attractions included in this offer, the 1620s House and Garden and Bosworth Battlefield, additional information can be found on their respective websites at www.bosworthbattlefield.org.uk and www.1620shouse.org.uk.

It’s important to be aware that the offer does not cover special events or activities that may have an additional cost, such as the Bosworth Medieval Festival on August 17th and 18th, 2024. Carers looking to take advantage of this opportunity should plan their visit accordingly to make the most of this generous offer.

In conclusion, this offer provides a wonderful opportunity for unpaid carers in Leicestershire to enjoy a day out at two historical attractions while also receiving a complimentary treat. By registering for a Carers Passport, carers can access additional support services and resources to assist them in their caregiving role. Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to explore these fascinating sites and take a well-deserved break from your caregiving responsibilities.
