The seventh annual Hot Rods for Heroes Car Show in North Platte, Nebraska, was a roaring success this past weekend at Cody Park. Classic car enthusiasts and spectators alike gathered to admire a stunning display of vehicles dating back to the 1930s, alongside popular favorites like Mustangs and Trans Ams. Event organizers Emma and Trey Painter were thrilled with the turnout and are excited to see the event continue to grow in the future.
„This year, we had a lot more sponsorship, and the rockabilly rebels joined us to put on a competition, which really helped boost attendance,“ Painter shared. „Word got around, and we had a lot of out-of-town cars this year. We also improved the layout from last year, which led to better flow and a more enjoyable experience for everyone. It was a great day here at Cody Park.“
In addition to the impressive lineup of cars, this year’s event also featured vendors for the first time. Showgoers had the opportunity to grab refreshments from lemonade, coffee, and taco trucks while browsing the stunning vehicles on display. What’s even more impressive is that all proceeds from the event go back to supporting Disabled American veterans in North Platte, making it a meaningful and impactful gathering for a good cause.
One of the standout features of the Hot Rods for Heroes Car Show is the unique trophies that were handcrafted by Emma and Trey Painter themselves. The duo poured their creativity and passion into making each trophy special and one-of-a-kind. „We spent time together making the trophies, sourcing parts from friends, family, and wherever we could find them,“ Painter explained. „We had over 10 categories for trophies and awards, and all the giveaway prizes were either donated or purchased with sponsorship money. It was a true team effort, and we’re grateful for the support that made it all possible.“
Looking ahead, Emma and Trey will be hosting Cars and Coffee events this fall at the Espresso Shop in North Platte on September 21 and October 19. These gatherings provide another opportunity for car enthusiasts to come together, share their love for classic vehicles, and enjoy a cup of coffee in a laid-back setting.
Overall, the seventh annual Hot Rods for Heroes Car Show was a resounding success, bringing together car enthusiasts, vendors, and supporters for a day of fun, community, and giving back. With a growing reputation and dedicated organizers like Emma and Trey Painter at the helm, this event is sure to continue making a positive impact for years to come.
