Despite heavy rainfall, the atmosphere at this year’s Young Professionals party, organized by Colliers for the third time, remained upbeat and lively. The company reported that the event attracted over 150 participants in less than a day, a clear sign of the strong interest and desire to connect among young professionals.
Karoline Fagerheim, the Marketing and Communications Director for Colliers in the Nordics, expressed her excitement about the overwhelming response to the event. She likened it to a „home alone party“ and highlighted the enthusiasm among employees to plan and participate in the event, with full support from the management.
The focus of the Young Professionals party is on networking and creating a platform for young, promising industry colleagues to connect. Frida Tosterud Grov, Partner and Head of Capital Markets at Colliers Norway, emphasized the importance of mingling and engaging in discussions about the market with fellow professionals.
Grov noted that while the market has experienced a downturn for some time, optimism is now on the rise. She highlighted a significant improvement in the Norwegian market, with transaction volumes in the first half of the year showing an 82% increase compared to the same period last year, indicating a potentially active autumn season ahead.
Colliers is known for its proactive approach to creating networking opportunities and has opened its Oslo offices for various events throughout the year, including women’s networks like KINE, sponsored student organizations, customer events, and industry parties like the Young Professionals party. Fagerheim emphasized that their offices at Tjuvholmen serve as more than just workspaces but as a hub for networking and meaningful conversations.
So far this year, the Norwegian office of Colliers has brought together around 400 individuals at various gatherings, showcasing their commitment to fostering connections and building a strong community within the industry.
In conclusion, the Young Professionals party organized by Colliers proved to be a successful and engaging event, despite the challenging weather conditions. The strong turnout and positive feedback from participants reflect the growing interest and enthusiasm among young professionals in the industry. With a renewed sense of optimism in the market, events like these serve as valuable platforms for networking, sharing insights, and building relationships within the industry.
