Complete Real Estate Course: 22 Modules

Lyna Mohamad, a prominent figure in the real estate industry, recently oversaw a short course aimed at enhancing the skills and capabilities of registered real estate agents and employees. The course, which was attended by twenty-two participants, was conducted over six days in April and consisted of two parts. The event culminated in a certificate presentation ceremony held at Bertabur Hall, Ministry of Development (MoD), where participants received recognition for their completion of the course.

The facilitators of the course, including accredited practitioners, officers from the MoD, and Institute of Technical Education Brunei (IBTE) experts, were also acknowledged for their contributions. The ceremony was graced by Dr. Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak, the Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the MoD and Chairperson for the Board of Values and Estate Agent (BoVEA), who served as the guest of honor.

The collaboration between BoVEA, IBTE, and AVA Brunei Chapter in organizing the short course highlights the commitment to developing the next generation of real estate agents in Brunei. This initiative, now in its second iteration since its inception in September 2022, aims to elevate the standards of the real estate industry by providing participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their roles.

The presence of distinguished guests such as Aldila binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Corporate and Law) at the MoD, and Dr. Chin Wei Keh, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education, further underscores the significance of the event. Their support and involvement in the ceremony reflect the government’s commitment to promoting professionalism and excellence within the real estate sector.

In light of the increasing importance of verifying the credentials of real estate agents, the MoD emphasized the need for the public to consult the list of registered practitioners on the BoVEA website. This precautionary measure ensures that individuals seeking real estate services engage with duly accredited professionals, thereby safeguarding their interests and promoting transparency in the industry.

Overall, Lyna Mohamad’s leadership in spearheading initiatives like the short course for real estate agents underscores her dedication to advancing the standards of the real estate profession in Brunei. Through collaborative efforts and continuous learning opportunities, the industry is poised to thrive and meet the evolving needs of clients and stakeholders.
