The 11th annual edition of the World Society for Emergency Surgery (WSES) congress is set to take place in the picturesque island of Rhodes from June 25th to 28th. This highly anticipated event will bring together esteemed colleagues from all corners of the globe to delve into the latest trends and new evidences in both trauma and general non-traumatic emergency surgery.

Attendees can look forward to a jam-packed schedule filled with highly interactive debates, keynote speeches, lectures, discussions on new and updated clinical practice guidelines, multidisciplinary panels, roundtable meetings, gamified training activities, satellite events, and selected oral presentation and video sessions. The congress promises to be a hub of knowledge exchange and collaboration, providing a platform for participants to engage with cutting-edge research and advancements in the field.

One of the highlights of the congress will be a large-scale field simulation exercise of prehospital prolonged field care in the historical city of Rhodes. This hands-on experience will offer participants a unique opportunity to test their skills in a simulated emergency scenario, allowing them to hone their abilities and learn from experts in the field.

In addition to the academic program, attendees will have the chance to network with industry professionals, interact with colleagues from around the world, and enjoy an exciting social program. The congress provides a conducive environment for forging new connections, sharing insights, and fostering collaborations that can drive innovation and progress in emergency surgery.

The event is organized by the local organizing committee and the WSES board, led by Emmanouil Pikoulis, MD, DMCC, PhD, FACS, FEBS. Dr. Pikoulis, who serves as the Dean of the School of Health Sciences and Professor and Chairman of the 3rd Department of Surgery at Attikon General Hospital, brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the congress. His leadership ensures that the event will be a resounding success, offering participants a valuable and enriching experience.

In conclusion, the 11th annual WSES congress in Rhodes promises to be a dynamic and engaging event for emergency surgery professionals.
