A Florida-based advertising firm, UO Solutions, has filed a lawsuit against three companies controlled by the company known as Cookies. While the exact amount of the bill is not disclosed, UO Solutions states that it exceeds $75,000. The complaint filed by UO Solutions outlines the professional services it provides to its clients, including the creation, development, and execution of advertising campaigns and search engine optimization strategies. The companies being sued by UO Solutions are Oregon-based CKS Seeds LLC, North Carolina-based CKSHO LLC, and California’s PCS Services LLC.
According to the complaint, the group of companies signed a contract in March 2024 for advertising services with UO Solutions. The firm claims that it hired employees to manage the clients, prepared advertisement content, developed advertising and marketing campaigns, and created strategies for search engine optimization. Despite repeated demands for payment, the companies allegedly refused to settle the bill, leading UO Solutions to seek damages, pre-judgment interest, and post-judgment interest at the maximum rate allowed by law.
The contract attached to the lawsuit outlines the services UO Solutions was to provide for each company. CKS Seeds had a monthly contract of $12,625 for services such as programmatic display advertising, creative programmatic ads, landing page creation, meta ads creation, meta campaign management, and Google search and shopping ads. CKSHO and PCS Services had contracts for $27,125 and $25,625 per month, respectively, with a minimum term of three months.
Cookies, the company controlling the three companies being sued, has been involved in several legal disputes. Recently, California-based SeedJunky dropped a breach of contract lawsuit against Cookies, although the reason for this decision was not disclosed. SeedJunky had accused Cookies and its top officials, including rapper Berner, of stealing valuable cannabis genetics to boost the Cookies brand. Despite these legal challenges, Cookies has continued to thrive in the cannabis industry, securing a valuation of $1 billion and being recognized as one of AdAge’s hottest brands of 2021.
In conclusion, the lawsuit filed by UO Solutions against the companies controlled by Cookies sheds light on the complexities of business relationships and legal disputes in the advertising industry. As the case unfolds in court, it will be interesting to see how the parties involved navigate the challenges and seek resolution.
