Stephanie Marson-Sealey and Skyler Sealey, a dynamic husband-and-wife team from Dorchester, are set to make a big splash in the fashion world with the grand opening of their first brick-and-mortar retail space this Saturday in Roxbury’s Washington Park Mall. The couple, who initially started selling fashion jewelry at local events, quickly expanded their business to include an online store, confidenceandfaith.com.
“I’ve always been into fashion,” shared Marson-Sealey. “It started with the jewelry and then morphed into the clothing.” With the success of their online venture, the Sealeys felt it was time to bring their vision to life with a physical storefront at 330 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Roxbury. The grand opening celebration is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday.
For Marson-Sealey, the allure of face-to-face interactions with customers is what truly excites her about the new store. “I love dealing with people. Online you sort of can, but there’s nothing like face-to-face. I hope [the store] will be a place where people will come and say, ‘I know I can find something for myself. I don’t have to worry about it. I hope it will be a place where people find joy, and where people working there can leave smiling.”
The entrepreneurial spirit runs deep in the Sealey family, as their daughter Melania Lee, a recent graduate of Boston Latin Academy, will also be showcasing her talents at the store. Under her brand, Stitched by Mel, she will be selling crocheted and embroidered items. The Sealeys’ mission has always been to inspire confidence in women through faith, and they hope that every customer who walks through their doors leaves feeling empowered.
In addition to clothing, jewelry, and Mel’s products, Confidence & Faith will also offer a range of home decor items such as mugs, pillows, and canvases. The store will also feature a Christian Shop, reflecting Marson-Sealey’s deep connection to the Light of The World Empowerment Center, the church she has been a part of since childhood.
To celebrate the grand opening, the store will be open until 8 p.m. on Saturday. The first 25 customers will receive a special gift with their purchase, and the first 100 people to join the email list will also receive a gift. The Sealeys are excited to welcome the community to their new space and are eager to spread joy and empowerment through their unique offerings.
