The morning commute on LBJ Freeway in Dallas turned into a scene of chaos and violence on Tuesday when a multi-car crash escalated into a series of shocking events. According to Dallas police, a man involved in the crash proceeded to stab a bystander, steal two cars, and run over multiple drivers. The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Angel Zamora from Plano, is now facing multiple counts of aggravated assault for his actions.
Eyewitnesses captured the unfolding drama on video, which quickly went viral in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Sameer Sethi, who was driving behind the suspect when the incident began, described the initial car accident that led to a confrontation between two individuals. The situation quickly escalated when one of the men pulled out a knife and stabbed another driver, setting off a chain of violent events.
Zamora’s rampage continued as he jumped on multiple cars and stomped on their windshields, causing further damage and chaos on the freeway. When a TXDOT worker stopped to assist at the crash scene, Zamora seized the opportunity to steal another driver’s car and ram into the worker, sending them to the hospital. Video footage captured Zamora driving after a woman in red scrubs, ultimately running her over and causing her to be hospitalized as well.
Despite the escalating violence, brave Good Samaritans were able to tackle the suspect to the ground and hold him until police arrived on the scene. Zamora now faces charges of seven counts of aggravated assault, two counts of unauthorized use of a vehicle, and one count of criminal mischief. It was later revealed that Zamora had been fired from his job at a Dallas contractor the day before the incident, adding a possible motive to his erratic behavior.
