Drohobychska AH Utilities to Inspect Traffic Lights Near Educational Institutions – Sokal Voice

As the new school year approaches, the hromada schools in Drohobych are gearing up to welcome students back to full-time education on 2 September. The leadership of the state and the region have emphasized the importance of ensuring that all schoolchildren are able to attend school in person from the beginning of the school year.

Taras Kuchma, the head of the hromada, has been vocal about the need to involve as many children as possible in full-time education. This includes children who are internally displaced and currently studying online at schools in their hometowns. Kuchma believes that online education does not provide the same quality of results as in-person learning, and it is crucial to bring these children back to the classroom.

In a recent staff meeting, the mayor instructed the Director of the Department of Municipal Economy to update the markings and check the serviceability of traffic lights near all educational institutions and kindergartens by early September. The safety of children is a top priority, and ensuring that they can cross roads safely is essential. Markings and warnings such as „Beware of Children“ and „School“ will be added to improve safety near schools.

The Department of Municipal Economy has already begun work on renovating pedestrian crossings near schools in Drohobych. Informational messages will be applied this week to alert drivers to the presence of children in the area. Sidewalks and traffic lights near educational institutions will also be given attention to ensure the safety of students.

The Drohobych community is home to 11,834 students, with 505 of them being internally displaced. This year, 1,000 pupils will be returning to school in person on the Day of Knowledge. In addition, there are 2,581 children attending pre-school institutions in the community, including 135 who are displaced.

Overall, the hromada in Drohobych is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for all students as they return to full-time education. The focus on safety measures, including updated markings and traffic lights, demonstrates the dedication of the community to the well-being of its children. With a strong emphasis on in-person learning, the hromada is working to ensure that all students have the opportunity to receive a quality education this school year.
