The collaboration between EGAT, SOPIT, APWAT, and TelSkore has led to the recognition and celebration of youth and schools within the Green Classroom Network for their efforts in conserving energy and the environment. This was exemplified through the presentation of the EGAT Green Learning Society award, which serves as a model for society.
On August 23, 2024, Mr. Somsak Prangthong, the Director of Energy and Environmental Management at the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), along with Ms. Ratana Saengbuaphuen, the Director of the Innovation Development Office at the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), Dr. Peeranuch Kanhadilok, the Director of the National Science Awareness Development Center at the National Science Museum, Dr. Nattarika Wayupap, the Acting Director of the Greenhouse Gas Management Agency (Public Organization), and Ms. Suwita Charanwong, the CEO & Co-Founder of TelSkore Limited, came together to present the EGAT Green Learning Society award for the year 2024 to outstanding youth and schools who have shown remarkable dedication to energy conservation and environmental protection under the Green Classroom Network program.
The EGAT Young Influencer activity aimed to enhance communication skills among upper primary and secondary school students. It comprised two categories: EGAT Green Seed Influencer, which involved a video competition promoting energy conservation and environmental protection, and EGAT Green Talk, focusing on public speaking about energy conservation and the environment. Schools such as Darawittayalai School in Chiang Mai and Saitramjant School in Ratchaburi were recognized for their exceptional work in these categories.
Furthermore, 133 schools, including Ber 5 School, were acknowledged for their commitment to promoting knowledge in energy conservation and environmental protection through various activities such as energy management, teaching methods, and youth engagement. These schools received awards and certificates for their efforts.
EGAT has been implementing the Green Classroom Network project since 2004 to support knowledge in energy conservation and environmental protection, as well as promote efficient energy use among students, teachers, and educational personnel. Currently, the network comprises over 1,300 schools nationwide, with more than 4 million students participating in the program at both primary and secondary levels.
In conclusion, the collaboration between EGAT, SOPIT, APWAT, and TelSkore has not only recognized the efforts of youth and schools in conserving energy and protecting the environment but has also set a standard for society to follow. The EGAT Green Learning Society award serves as a testament to the dedication and hard work of these individuals and institutions in creating a sustainable future for all.
