On September 14, the BK House in the French Quarter will be hosting a Garden Symposium titled „Beautiful Spaces: A Symposium — Exploring the History and Legacy of New Orleans Gardens.“ This event will delve into the cultural legacy of Crescent City gardens, with topics ranging from New Orleans landscapes from the 1720s to the 1960s to formal parterre gardens and their creation. The symposium will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include coffee, pastries, a box lunch, and a reception featuring herbal cocktails. The Fall Member Lecture Series by Friends of Cabildo continues with a series on New Orleans cemeteries. Led by cemetery scholar Emily Ford, the lectures will cover topics such as cemetery repair and preservation, as well as discussions on Brazil in the Second World War, the meeting of Rex and Zulu, and the intersection of food and race in New Orleans.
