FBS, a global broker, has recently partnered with SUKA Society to support preschools for Orang Asli children in remote villages in Peninsular Malaysia. This collaboration is part of the Empowered2Teach program, which aims to provide teaching resources and improve access to quality education for indigenous children who currently lack school opportunities.
The sponsorship by FBS will cover the 2024 academic year syllabus for six preschools located in Slim River, Gopeng, Tapah, Gua Musang, and Kuala Rompin. These materials will focus on enhancing language skills, numeracy, motor skills, and emotional well-being of young learners, targeting holistic development.
According to a report by Jabatan Kemajuan Orang Asli (JAKOA), there are at least 7,000 indigenous children in Peninsular Malaysia who lack access to school education.
