Penyelaras DUN Taman Medan, Halimey Abu Bakar, recently organized a ceremony for the distribution of Aidilfitri shopping vouchers and contributions for the Back to School program by the Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ) at a prominent supermarket in Petaling Jaya. Halimey, who was newly appointed as the DUN Coordinator, stated that the contributions were a gift from the State Government to the people of Selangor and could only be given by State Government representatives. Since Taman Medan was won by the opposition in the last election, he was entrusted as the DUN Coordinator to deliver the allocation.
„This is a gift from the Selangor State Government to the people of this state, including the residents of Taman Medan,“ Halimey emphasized. He explained the difference between an ‚ADUN 30‘ (winning by 30 votes) in Taman Medan and a DUN Coordinator, stating that the current ADUN, Dr. Afif, won by a margin of 30 votes. Dr. Afif is an opposition ADUN, not a Selangor State Government ADUN. Therefore, for administrative purposes, the State Government under the Menteri Besar appointed a DUN Coordinator to assist the residents.
„Dr. Afif does not have the allocation and cannot provide the Aidilfitri vouchers under the Iltizam Selangor Penyayang program to the people of Taman Medan because this is a Selangor State Government program. That’s why I am giving what the State Government has allocated,“ Halimey clarified.
During the ceremony, the recipients were delighted to receive the RM200 assistance vouchers. Halimey also announced that his new office at Dataran Anak Muda in the residential area had been approved, replacing the temporary office at Dewan MPPJ PJS1. He mentioned that after Aidilfitri, various contribution programs would be more active, urging eligible recipients under the Iltizam Selangor Penyayang initiative to visit his office for assistance, including addressing issues such as the renewal of the Kad Peduli Sihat.
Regarding the Jom Shopping program, Halimey mentioned that the participants who received the vouchers could spend RM200 on Eid preparations. „Today, we are giving out gifts, we have conducted the distribution, the State Government has reviewed, and we have ensured that they are eligible to receive the RM200 voucher. Today, they can shop at Mydin,“ he added.
In conclusion, the event organized by Penyelaras DUN Taman Medan, Halimey Abu Bakar, not only provided aid to the residents but also highlighted the State Government’s commitment to assisting the people of Selangor, including those in Taman Medan. The distribution of Aidilfitri shopping vouchers and contributions for the Back to School program reflects the government’s efforts to support the community during festive seasons and beyond.
