Indian writers to showcase their talent at Sharjah Book Fair – Announcement

The Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) is gearing up for its 37th edition, set to take place from October 31 to November 10 at the Expo Centre in Sharjah. With over 1,000 exhibitors from 100 countries, the fair is the third largest book festival in the world, making it a must-visit event for book lovers, authors, and literary enthusiasts alike.

One of the highlights of this year’s SIBF is the impressive line-up of Indian authors, poets, bloggers, and musicians who will be gracing the event. From Bollywood actress Nandita Das to Canadian YouTuber Lilly Singh, political leader and poetess M.K.Kanimozhi to renowned authors like Shashi Tharoor and Chetan Bhagat, the fair promises to be a melting pot of literary talent and cultural diversity.

According to Ravi Deecee, CEO of DC Books, the participation of Indian personalities at SIBF reflects the deep connection between the Indian community in the UAE and the world of literature, arts, and culture. With a wide range of functions and sessions planned over the eleven-day event, attendees can look forward to engaging discussions, book signings, and performances by some of the biggest names in the industry.

Among the notable speakers at the fair are Member of Indian parliament and writer Shashi Tharoor, former member of the upper house of the Indian parliament M.P. Abdussamad Samadani, and bestselling author Chetan Bhagat. Additionally, violin virtuoso Dr L Subramaniam, Tamil writer Perumal Murugan, Academy Award winner Resul Pookutty, and veteran actor Prakash Raj will also be sharing their insights and experiences with the audience.

The diverse range of authors attending the fair includes Indian-English writer Manu S.Pillai, Malayalam writers K.V.Mohankumar, Santhosh Echikkaanam, S.Hareesh, and Deepa Nishanth, as well as culinary experts like Ranveer Brar, Shipra Khanna, and Lathika George. With sessions covering a wide array of topics from literature to music, film, and social activism, SIBF promises to be a vibrant celebration of creativity and knowledge.
