Industry News: Strategies for Achieving a $5 Trillion Economy in Bharat by FY28 through Sustainability, Collaboration, and Policy Initiatives

The recent Logistics Shakti Summit & Awards 2024 held in New Delhi shed light on the pivotal role of the logistics sector in steering Bharat towards a $5 trillion economy by 2027-28 and achieving a digitally advanced, eco-friendly logistics infrastructure by 2047. Industry leaders emphasized the importance of sustainability, collaboration, and policy initiatives in achieving these ambitious goals.

Lt. Gen. Dharam Vir Kalra, a retired former Director of General Ordnance Services in the Indian Army, highlighted the significance of efficient supply chains for business success. He stressed the importance of strategic investment in infrastructure and the adoption of emerging technologies like RFID, Blockchain, and Data Analytics to align business and supply chain strategies effectively. Lt. Gen. Kalra expressed his pride in being part of the evolving logistics industry and the recognition it is receiving.

Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Choudhary, Vice Chancellor of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, shared the university’s commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2030. With a significant budget allocation of Rs 11 lakh crore, key initiatives like Vande Bharat, freight corridor expansion, and national highway development are driving economic growth. The focus on strengthening the logistics network and embracing digitalization is crucial for meeting the evolving demands of the sector.

Amit Shankhdhar, Founder Director of Million Minds, emphasized the collaborative nature of Logistics Shakti in achieving the Viksit Bharat Mission. He highlighted the importance of collective efforts from all stakeholders, from truckers to policymakers, in driving competence through competition. The summit aims to accelerate growth and innovation in logistics, marking just the beginning of a transformative journey with no end in sight.

The Logistics Shakti Summit & Awards 2024, organized by IHW Media and Million Minds Management Consultancy, brought together industry leaders and experts to discuss innovative strategies for advancing India’s logistics sector. The focus was on current trends and digital transformation to achieve the Viksit Bharat 2047 Mission. The event also saw BonV Aero signing a strategic MoU with the Centre for Disaster Management Studies and Sustainability (CDDMASS), highlighting the importance of collaboration in driving sustainable development.
