Emily Jakimowicz, a seasoned professional in the world of marketing and digital strategy, has recently returned to University City to take on a new role at Penn Athletics. With six years of experience in progressive roles at Penn Athletics, Jakimowicz brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new position as Assistant AD/Marketing & Digital Strategy.
In her most recent role as Assistant AD, Digital Media at Cal Athletics, Jakimowicz led the department’s digital media efforts with a focus on social media, email communication, digital advertising, and website management. Her experience in overseeing official social media accounts, producing engaging content, and managing digital advertising campaigns has prepared her well for her new role at Penn.
Upon her return to Penn, Jakimowicz expressed her excitement about rejoining the team where she began her career. She is eager to work alongside the talented marketing and creative team at Penn Athletics to tell the stories of student-athletes and create a world-class digital experience for fans. Her passion for sports marketing and fan engagement is evident in her previous work at Cal Athletics and Saint Joseph’s.
During her time at Saint Joseph’s as the Director of Marketing & Fan Experience, Jakimowicz led the department’s marketing and creative efforts while elevating the SJU brand. She collaborated with various teams to establish themes, programs, and promotions to increase attendance and revenue, showcasing her ability to drive fan engagement and enhance the overall fan experience.
Jakimowicz’s career journey began in 2015 as a Marketing Assistant at Penn, where she quickly rose through the ranks to become Associate Director, Marketing & Creative Services before moving on to Saint Joseph’s. Her educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from Temple University in 2015 and a master’s in sport business in 2022, further solidifying her expertise in the field of sports marketing.
With her return to Penn Athletics, Emily Jakimowicz is poised to make a significant impact on the external efforts of the department, including social and digital media, fan engagement, and revenue generation. Her experience, skills, and passion for sports marketing make her a valuable addition to the Penn Athletics team, and fans can look forward to exciting new engagement opportunities under her leadership.
